User profile field error

Post by greenfox » Tue Apr 26, 2016 8:15 pm

A strange little quirk I just found updating my user profile.

User Control Panel - Profile tab
If I copy and paste my Facebook and Youtube links in the fields provided, when clicking to update and exit the page I get this error.

Field has invalid characters. Only alphanumeric or . characters are allowed.

The problem is that these sites do use other characters in their addresses.
eg. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008056488325

I suspect it is a field setting somewhere in administration settings.
Kind regards,
Rick

At least for Facebook if you go to your Facebook profile under contact info you'll find an alternate link to your Facebook page that will work (at least mine appears to).

Thank you John

I was able to create a username in facebook which gave a more user friendly page address, however this "Facebook" field in the Miditzer Forum User Profile won't allow "/" so simply won't accept even this new web link.

I went to your Miditzer profile, clicked the Facebook link and your Facebook page came up. Seems to be working now at least...
