Cameron Carpenter in rehearsal

Post by johnh » Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:08 pm

Here's a description of a candid video of Cameron Carpenter forwarded from another list I read:

From: Rich Blacklock <rblacklock@COMCAST.NET>
To: PIPORG-L@LIST.UIOWA.EDU
Subject: [PIPORG-L] Cameron Carpenter Rehearsing Erlking

I shot this video of Cameron using my Canon pocket camera in mid
September during the rehearsal for his DVD. The composition is
Schubert's Erlking. To fully appreciate what Cameron is describing you
may wish to read about Erlking here:

The video is here:

The DVD will be released in April, 2010 along with the CD that Cameron
recorded live at NYC's Saint Mary the Virgin. Info here:

Complete story of the Hardman Studio Wurlitzer is here:

What an enjoyable 3 days this was!

I encourage everyone to visit the webpages describing the restoration of the Hardman Studio Wurlitzer. It's the last link in the post above. A lengthy description of the work involved in relocating and refurbishing an organ. Lot's of good 'behind the scenes' shots of the four manual console as well...
