Thanks Trevor for posting this link. It is great to see and hear one of these old 160C instruments working.

In watching the video, the paper roll player appears to be only playing on the Acc manual. The paper roll triggers the depressing of the Acc keys. The paper roll also controls the Acc registrations but does not depress the actual tabs. The Solo keys or registrations were never depressed in the video. Does the paper roll player have the capacity and ability to play the Solo keys and also the Pedals? If the paper roll player cannot play the Solo keys and Pedals, then I assume the these were only played when a person would accompany the paper roll player or play the 160C manually without using the player part of the instrument. I would be thankful if you would answer the above questions and verify my suppositions. Thanks.

The roll does play the pedal (limited range, I think,) but not the Solo manual. The accompaniment manual is actually divided in half, and there are actually two of each stopkey for that manual. That way, two different registrations can be made.

You can kind of see it in this photo.

Also, that clicking thing on the left is the stepper for the shutters. One side steps them open, the other side closed.

Graham,

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed seeing the 160C actually doing something. I also missed the earlier link posted by Trevor.
