Hi Jim
Just FYI:
64bits windows 10 can correctly identify & label a pair of identical USB keyboards differently. Only 32 bits progams like miditzer cannot access the "qualified labels".
The Hammond B3-X 64-bits I have trialed can correctly identify a pair of USB m-audio 61 oxygen keyboards as first and 2nd instances.

Ah! Thank you for that update Reuel. The forthcoming version of the Miditzer will be a 64 bit program. I assume you still have the pair of "identical USB" Oxygen keyboards? May I contact you to do some testing of our ability to correctly identify them when we get to that point?

Hi Jim,

Can you confirm if the latest release 64-bit V4 of Miditzer 216 can handle multiple instances of like keyboards (running under Windows 10).

I couldn't come up with a satisfactory way of differentiating 3 M-Audio 61MK3 midi controller keyboards back in 2020 on the earlier version of the 216 when I was midifying my Conn 651, and I had to hack into the wiring inside the keyboards to get around the problem.

thanks, Charles

Hi Charles,

I don't have the keyboards needed to test that. If you, or anyone else does have two or more identical USB connected keyboards, please let me know how the alpha version of the 216 is reporting those keyboards on the Settings Input tab.

Thanks.

Hi Jim
Sorry for late attention.
I have tested Miditzer 216 64 bits Alpha and it is GOOD NEWS.
The 216 64bits CAN USE a pair of "identical USB" M-audio Oxygen keyboards with no problem.
My first m-audio oxygen 61 was identified as [Oxygen 61 MIDI IN]
My 2nd identical m-audio oxygen 61 was identified as [3-Oxygen 61 MIDI IN].
(I presume it is the 3rd USB port of my PC)

Best regards

Reuel

Hi Reuel,

Nice of you to drop by!

Your report of success with two identical USB keyboards is great news. Nice to hear that new version of the Miditzer has corrected this vexing issue.

I also had tried a midi-USB hub but it made no difference in my case to differentiating between the identical keyboards so I ended up having to scrap the hub idea.

You cannot use a USB hub.
Each USB instance is differentiated by Windows 10/11 x64 based on different USB ports of the PC.

Multiple USB keybaords of the same model ONLY works on 64-bit version of Miditer 216 (latest is alpha 1.005)
