Barr-Fox Wurlitzer Doco

Post by moonskin » Tue Oct 26, 2021 6:10 am

The 1928 Fox Studio Wurlitzer has now been restored and installed in a new studio. This story appeared as a short documentary on YouTube last week. This is a must see!

Thank you for sharing that link Graham. "Must see" is an often overused accolade, but it really is true of this documentary. The quality of the video reflects its origin from the film making community. The Barr-Fox Wurlitzer is a very significant instrument that will continue to contribute to film scoring thanks to Nathan Barr.

It's interesting that after the silent era ended, the Theatre Organ was still there and active in Film.

Also, looking at its specification, the Barr-Fox instrument and the 260SP are very similar in size.
